HOW NOVOWAVE RESTORES PLAQUE

What is NOVOwave™

NOVOwave™ is Focused acoustic energy – sound waves – delivered through the skin to the plaque tissue. The pulses break down scar tissue and stimulate your body's own regenerative response: new blood vessels, healthier collagen, softer tissue. No needles, no incisions, no anesthesia.

What to expect

Your treatment, step by step

An eight-session course over eight weeks, paired with a daily home protocol. Most men return to normal activity the same day.

  1. 01

    First visit

Private consult with your Care Coordinator and PA. You'll receive your first NOVOwave™ session under topical numbing and leave with your full at-home protocol kit.

    60–90 minutes

  2. 02

    Weekly sessions

Topical numbing cream is applied before each PA-guided treatment. Acoustic pulses delivered directly to the plaque tissue — most men describe it as mild pressure, not pain. You return to your day immediately after.

    20–30 minutes · 8 visits

  3. 03

    Daily at home

About 20–30 minutes a day, on your own schedule. Red light therapy, peptide cream, traction, and vacuum protocol. Private, discreet, and done in the comfort of your home.

    Daily · across 8 weeks

  4. 04

    Healing phase

Pain typically improves first — often within the first three to four weeks. Curvature softening continues as collagen remodels over the following weeks.

    Weeks 4–12 · ongoing

01

Pros & benefits

  • Noninvasive — no injections, no incisions.
  • Generally safe with minimal recovery time.
  • May reduce pain and improve symptoms.
  • Good for early or acute phase, or as adjunct therapy.
  • May stimulate vascular remodeling and circulation.
  • Only FDA-approved non-surgical option for Peyronie's.
  • Can reduce curvature incrementally.
  • Outpatient with minimal downtime — no large incisions.
  • Good option when non-surgical methods fail.
  • High success rates correcting curvature in severe cases.
  • Immediate, structural correction — permanent mechanical change.
  • Performed by surgeons experienced in penile reconstruction.

02

Cons & limitations

  • Paid out-of-pocket — typically not covered by insurance.
  • Protocols (dose, number of sessions) vary among providers.
  • Minor side effects possible — mild bruising or discomfort.
  • Modest curvature reduction in many cases.
  • Requires multiple cycles (4 cycles + modeling over ~6 months).
  • Doesn't reliably correct complex deformities like hourglass shapes or heavily calcified plaques.
  • Risk of erectile dysfunction, penile shortening, and sensory changes.
  • Invasive surgery with significant risks and recovery.
  • Potential for erectile dysfunction, penile shortening, sensory changes.
  • Grafting may require tissue harvesting and additional trauma.
  • Longer downtime; risk of infection and scarring.
  • Cost, anesthesia, and hospital fees add up.
  • Irreversible changes in some cases.

03

Typical cost

$500–$600 / session

Cost varies by clinic and package. Total investment depends on session volume and included services.

$6,800-$7,900 / dose

Full course can exceed $30,000 if uninsured. Per-dose cost ranges from $6,900 to $16,000+.

$5,000–$15,000+

Curvature correction typically $5,000–$7,000+. Penile implants can exceed $15,000.

04

Risks & safety

  • Generally low risk in reported studies — mostly minor and transient.
  • Possible mild bruising or petechiae (small red spots).
  • Risk of serious complications including penile hematoma, swelling, and injection-site reactions.
  • Possible erectile dysfunction, penile shortening, sensory changes.
  • Boxed warning: risk of corporal rupture or penile fracture.
  • Allergic reactions possible.
  • Sexual abstinence required during specific treatment windows.
  • Standard surgical risks: infection, bleeding, anesthesia.
  • Possible erectile dysfunction, penile shortening, sensory changes.
  • Graft failure, scarring, and patient dissatisfaction possible.
  • Irreversibility — surgery cannot be easily undone.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does it hurt?

A topical numbing cream (a blend of benzocaine, lidocaine, and tetracaine) is applied before each session. With the numbing cream in place, most men tolerate the treatment very well. You may feel slight pressure or mild discomfort during the procedure, and your provider can adjust the settings at any time to keep you comfortable.

Are there side effects?

Side effects are uncommon and typically mild. Some men experience light bruising or petechiae — small red spots — which usually resolve within a day or two. If this occurs, avoid pumping until the area has fully healed. A small number of patients may react to the topical numbing cream. If you have a known allergy to benzocaine, lidocaine, tetracaine, or similar medications, let your provider know before treatment. If you notice redness, swelling, itching, or any signs of an allergic reaction, contact your provider immediately.

What's your success rate?

Approximately 75–80% of men report being satisfied with their results following treatment. Individual outcomes vary depending on the severity and duration of your Peyronie's, but most patients see meaningful improvement in pain, curvature, and overall function.

Can Peyronie's come back?

Once Peyronie's disease develops, there's always a possibility of future flare-ups or recurrence of symptoms. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms, reducing pain and curvature, and helping you return to normal daily activity and sexual function with minimal discomfort. Many men maintain their results long-term, and maintenance options are available if needed.

Is there any downtime?

There's little to no downtime after treatment. The topical numbing cream may last several hours after your session — washing the area helps it wear off more quickly. Most patients return to normal daily activity the same day with no restrictions. If you notice any bruising after treatment, avoid pumping until it resolves. We also recommend skipping pumping on the same day as your in-clinic session.

How does NOVOwave™ compare to other Peyronie's treatments?

NOVOwave™ is a non-invasive, regenerative alternative to surgical procedures and Xiaflex injections, both of which are more invasive options. There's no anesthesia, no incisions, and no needles — and most men return to normal activity the same day. We pair it with a daily at-home protocol to extend and consolidate the results we build in the clinic.
